Kayaking
Yesterday was a good day! Not only did I get up the courage (not that I need much) to go kayaking, I also didn't let anxiety get the best of me, which recently has been hard not to.
I wish I could describe the sensation and how the experience of it all fulfilled some of my most determined explorations....but words just cannot. I wish I could speak of the person I went with, but that person remains anonymous. An entire day of kayaking and basking. A smooth lake, a choppy ocean, mangrove adventures (and mosquito bites to prove it, LOL), fishing from the kayak, a peaceful and somewhat deserted beach watching the waves crash against the sand while relaxing, snacking and talking. Saw a few other kayakers and had small talk as we paddled by as well as other fishermen who didn't catch anything either. Playful yet refined while seeking things stirring about with every paddle we took, or every walk we took. I saw a few different kinds of birds, crabs and fish, but no manatees or dolphins. Spending a good 7 hours out there, it's inevitable for me not to get sunburned....but it was well worth it.
I hope I get a chance to do it again some day, and I am thankful I was given the opportunity.
